On Wednesday May 30, Roots and Shoots held an open fun day as part of Nottinghamshire County Council's 'Greenweeks' programme of events. Volunteers and people from the local community were treated to an afternoon of fun and frolics.
Activities included making willow plant climbers, friendly insect homes, paper flowers from recycled paper, salsa dancing, planting up pots and plant hangers with food plants, fresh fruit and smoothy tastings, henna hand tatoos, children's nature trails and more! A variety of food was provided and all activities (including the food!) were free of charge.
We were having too much fun to be put off by the rain, as the following pictures will show!
