Every Wednesday, Roots and Shoots holds open craft willow sessions for people from the local community to come and learn some new skills and make new friends. The sessions run from 10am to 3pm and are open for people to drop in for as long as they'd like to stay. Children are also welcome with their parents/guardians when there is no school. Individuals can make items for themselves to take home and also items to enhance the community garden.
The sessions are tutored by Mike, a skilled worker in basketry and greenwood crafts. Mike works in a relaxed and encouraging way, allowing service users to make what they would like to make, in their own timescale and being on hand when help is needed. As you can see, we produce some amazingly good results!
